ILLiad Statuses Explained

ILLiad uses various descriptive phrases to indicate the status of Interlibrary Loan requests. The phrases, listed below, reflect the actions of the requesting customer as well as those of the ILL staff. Therefore the status may be used to pinpoint the exact location or condition of each interlibrary loan request in ILLiad.

Awaiting Copyright Clearance

This article request has been submitted by the customer and it is awaiting copyright processing to determine the amount of copyright fees to be paid.

Awaiting Customer Contact

This requested item has arrived and has been processed by the ILL staff, but we have not yet contacted the customer to inform him/her that the item has arrived.

Awaiting Denied Renewal Processing

The Interlibrary Loan status for this transaction has been imported into ILLiad from the Lender as No Renewal. It is currently awaiting recall from the customer by the Borrowing staff of the Kresge Library and return processing.

Awaiting Doc Provider Processing

The Kresge Library must pay copyright fees to acquire this article. Therefore this request has been out-sourced to a commercial document provider.

Awaiting Document Delivery Processing

This request was routed to staff who will supply the item from the Kresge Library's collection. This document delivery service is for Oakland University faculty and staff only.

Awaiting Extensive Searching

This document could not be requested easily and needs some additional searching and examination.

Awaiting Post Receipt Processing

This requested item has arrived, but has not yet been processed by the ILL staff.

Awaiting Request Processing

This requested item has been submitted by the customer and has gone through the copyright clearance process, if necessary. It is now ready to be searched and requested from potential lenders. From here it may be routed to various ILL staff for processing.

Awaiting Return Label Processing

This item has been returned to the ILL office by the customer. It is currently awaiting return processing so that it can be returned to the lender.

Cancelled By Customer

The customer has cancelled this request and no longer requires the requested item.

Cancelled By ILL Staff

This request has been cancelled by the ILL staff. The reason for this cancellation may be found in ILLiad by selecting View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests and looking at the detailed information for the cancelled item.
Note: If one of your requests is cancelled by the ILL staff, ILLiad immediately sends you an e-mail message explaining why the item was cancelled.

Checked Out to Customer

The requested item has arrived, has been processed by the ILL staff, and has been checked out to the customer. Until the item's status is changed to 'Item Checked In', the customer is responsible for the item.

Customer Notified via E-Mail

The requested item has arrived, has been processed by the ILL staff, and the customer has been notified of its availability via E-Mail.

Delivered to Web

The requested item has arrived, has been processed by the ILL staff, and has been posted to the customer's ILLiad account, where it may be viewed and/or downloaded electronically via Adobe Acrobat.

In DD Stacks Searching

This request is currently being searched in the library's collection to be retrieved for copying.

In Print Queue

The requested item has arrived and has been partially processed by the ILL staff. It is currently awaiting the printing of its ILL identification label.

In Return Address Print Queue

The item has been returned to the ILL office by the customer. It has been checked in and is awaiting the printing of its return address label.

Incorrect Item Received and Returned

An item was received that does not match the item that was requested. It has been returned to the lender and the original item will be re-requested.

Item Checked In

The item has been returned to the ILL office by the customer and the item has been checked in. It is now ready for return processing.

Item Returned

The item has been returned to the lender.

Lost or Damaged Item

Items more than 14 days overdue are declared Lost. The patron will receive an invoice for replacement. Return the item and the replacement cost will be waived.

Recalled

This item is being recalled by the lender. Return it to the Kresge Library Circulation Desk immediately.

Received Incorrect/Partial Item

An item was received that either does not match the item that was requested or is incomplete. The ILL staff will determine the quickest means to correct this.

Request Finished

The entire request process has been completed successfully. Requests with this status are archived under the 'View Request History' button.
Note: Cancelled requests are not at Request Finished status and thus do not display under View Request History; Cancelled requests may be found under the View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests button.

Request Held Until...

This status is used to hold a request for later processing. This is used in December when Interlibrary Loan services cease over the holidays. Requests are held until they can be processed in January of the following year.

Request In Processing

This request is being processed at this moment.

Request Sent

This request has been sent by ILL staff to several owning libraries and ILL is waiting for a response.

Routed from Document Delivery to Borrowing

The requested item could not be provided through Document Delivery and has been routed back to Borrowing for request from another lender.

Routed to MeLCat

This request was available in the MeLCat system. We have submitted your request through MeLCat and you will contacted again by email when the item arrives.

Submitted by Customer

This request has been submitted by the customer and is awaiting processing by the ILL staff.
